Personnel locator

Aside from tracking and managing fleets, it is also possible to track people just as well. To this end a person is equipped with a special GPS tracking device that relays his/her position via the GSM/GPRS network. By activating the device, it is possible through out web application to locate the person carrying the tracking device at any time.

What is Fleet.gr;

Fleet.gr is a subscription based web application that allows our customers to manage their fleet in real time.

How does Fleet.gr work;

The basic architecture of Fleet.gr is shown in the figure below. The 24 GPS satellites broadcast a signal that is received and processed by the tracking unit we provide you with and is installed in the vehicle. The same tracking device relays the vehicle location through the mobile phone network to our servers where the information is safely stored in the database and served through Fleet.gr to our clients.

Location sensing using WiFi

DataSphere continually invests in research and development of novel ideas and services and is among very few companies worldwide that has developed a locating technology based on the use of 802.11 ( WiFi ) networks . Even though using GPS for tracking is used widely and the results are acceptable in most cases, there are situations where it cannot be used (for example indoors). Our location sensing solution uses existing WiFi infrastructure to provide a location fix of device equipped with a WiFi adaptor (laptops, PDA, etc) without interfering with the normal operation of the wireless network.

Typical applications of this technology include office buildings, malls and storage areas. Additionally, with the expansion of HotSpots and wireless metropolitan networks WiFi location sensing can be also used for outdoor areas but at the cost of degraded accuracy. Our typical location error for indoor application is 4 meter with probability >90%.

Currently our WiFi location technology only supports Microsoft Windows (XP and CE).
